What ho?!

So you would like to know “About” myself? Or perhaps the verity of the existence of this blog? Well gentlemen, and perhaps a lady or 2, I can quite comfortably say that this blog does indeed exist, as to the existence of myself in question… Well that’s a rather tricky philosophical question.

But back to a semblance of sanity of a second. I am a 24 year old living in the desolate almost north of Canada. I drift from job to job every couple of months (sometimes more sometimes less) and am currently unemployed. Several years ago I took a couple (approx 2-3) years of university studying the fine art of New media. However the situation did not agree with me and I quickly found myself not attending classes, clearly because I had far more important things to do. Laziness was clearly not an anti-motivator.

I’m not too sure what my point is, or what direction I intend to head with this “About” section, so instead I’ll just post a 5 point list of likes and dislikes followed by plugging an amazing/spectacular webcomic made by a good friend of mine.

1. Pizza
2. Orwellian Futures
3. Philosophy
4. Art (fine and immature)
5. Sand inside you sandal at the beach, and no matter how you twist it the sand will never fully leave the sandal
*Note: List may not be in order and may combine likes and dislikes*

As for that webcomic I contrived to mention earlier, go check out this one

And last but not least, if you feel the need to throw money at me, a good chunk of my designs are for sale on various apparel at CafePress.

Thanks for the follow! I’ve been amazed at how having an art blog breaks down my sense of working in isolation, it’s so cool to see what other people think visually do with their time & space.

I’ve never heard it put quite so concisely. Its quite true, being able to instantly share your art/concepts with practically the entire world in nearly zero time makes the process seem much less isolating as you said. You’ve gotten a fantastic gallery (or blog if you prefer) so far, thank you for stopping by and I hope I see more of your awesome work.

  14. Silentine says:

Thanks for following my blog, I really appreciate it. Compared to your work, I severely lack creativity in mine. Hope I can fix that in the near future.

    • kindasane says:

I wouldn’t say “severely”, the reason I followed your blog is I’m amazingly jealous of your technical skills 🙂

Did you go to any school for training?

      • Silentine says:

Purely self taught, though I wanted to attend a school but abandoned the idea due to financial issues. Collected a bunch of books, tutorials and references throughout the internet instead and started learning from there.

Focused far too much on improving it left my creativity to dry up. Can’t really make anything original right now, haven’t made anything original in the past few years. I keep on focusing on improving to avoid that fact. I guess that is the result of being too much of a perfectionist.

      • kindasane says:

        Perfection isn’t always a bad thing :p

Mind you if its getting in the way of new ideas it could have gone too far. But your efforts have produced fantastic results! I love the look of your stuff

      • Silentine says:

Thank you. Maybe when I am comfortable with my progress I can finally push my creativity to flow again. All I can do now is to use of my time to make that happen, one step at a time.

    Kind of,
Thanks so much for visiting my site and deciding to follow along. I am completely clueless about digital art and the whole computer-as-art-tool genre, so you practice god-like magic here in my world view. Very cool. And *much* more fun than a lobotomy.

    • kindasane says:

lol, I’m glad you like it. Using the computer is not very hard, I find the hardest part is not looking at your hand when you draw. Love your sketches btw.
